Thanks to Shawn Wasson for bringing this to my attention. Live video of St. Peter's Square is available from the Washington Post. Note that this video requires RealPlayer.

Right, but b/c of demand it seems to be crashing.

Thanks for having this available. It may become busier in the coming weeks. God bless this space and God bless the Pope.

Hi Jimbo. I'm doing a Brazilian Blog about Pope. I would like to know if I can translate the news and information you post in your blog. Answer me at thassius@gmail.com
Thanks.

I am not a Catholic, but to me Pope John Paul II was the embodiment of the Holy Spirit. I feel as though I have lost a dear and close friend and also feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have been in his audience at the Vatican with my family. I pray that whomever is chosen to succeed him will have the wisdom, the courage, the vision and the love that Pope John Paul II exuded. May God keep him close to Him.

His interdiction on the use of condoms makes this pope responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Can anyone explain this hysteric adoration for a mass murderer?

Go figure that anonymous would not leave a name on such a stupid statement. If he knew the reasons for the Pope's message as well as the definition of "murder" then perhaps I would actually reply to him in a manner befitting an intelligent person. But I am afraid that even these words ar being written in vain ...
